For much of their lives both Kay and Tim's work and interests have had a global perspective. In their passion for understanding individual and societal development they have studied mankind's process of social evolution at a range of stages of its timeline as it is currently being experienced by a variety of peoples, cultures and societies around the world.
As a family (mother and son) they have lived in England and Scotland, Canada and New Zealand. Kay has lived in Costa Rica and Spain. Tim has lived in Sweden, Japan and Spain. As colleagues they have travelled and worked extensively, together or separately, in the USA, Europe, India, Thailand, Malaysia and Australia and New Zealand.
In the early to mid 1990s Kay travelled through Russia and other Eastern European countries researching and offered training and support in group and project development (mostly pro bono) to much needed, newly forming, voluntary and community groups.
Tim has spent years travelling and studying many cultures, both traditional and those newly emerging, in Africa, and parts of Asia including: India, Burma, China, Thailand, Nepal and Tibet. These travels have given them access to wonderfully wise, inspirational and courageous people whose experience is shared through the books on this site.
Through their project, Listen for a Change, Kay and Tim developed and delivered a series of workshops and training programmes on several aspects of Constructive Communication--these include: The Essence of Listening; The Listening Leader; Speaking to be Heard, and the Listen for a Change Training the Trainer programme of all of these workshops. They also devised a workshop on Effective Meetings and facilitation. These have been offered in England and Scotland, Australia and New Zealand.
In their collaboration on this website, Kay is writing a series of books and Free Guides on these subjects and on many aspects of personal and community development under the heading ‘You Make the Difference’. Tim contributes to and helps edit the books, designs the book covers and publishes the books in paperback and e-book versions on Amazon. He has designed, created and now manages all aspects of the website, and social networking sites.
They are now working together to develop the Creating Personal Culture programmes and book series.

SPECIAL EDITIONS |
The Legend, The People, The Place, The Spirit.
Kay Kay has collected dozens of stories from people who have influenced or been influence by 50 years of the Internationally renowned Findhorn Community. Among many others, there are contributions from Eileen and Peter Caddy, Dorothy Maclean, David Spangler, Dr. Patch Adams and lyrics from Mike Scott. She has also contributed stories of her experiences during the 18 years of living there. There are deep insights into many facets of life in the Community. The reasons for people being attracted to the place, how they arrive and why they might leave; the individual and collective experiments in styles of living, community engagement, social interaction, finance, education, healthcare, food production, environmental awareness and Eco Village development. Like all fables, these contain many meanings: the appreciation and value of cultural and ethnic diversity; the benefit of agreed principles, ethics and spiritual values in everyday life; the importance of the arts for enrichment; the enjoyment of working, eating, celebrating and making decisions together in mutual support and respect; the beneficial consequences of creating a culture for sustainability, and ways to evaluate and reconstruct social systems and structures when the need arises.
